Day Three Hundred and Thirty Eight and Counting...

I had a date day with my Grace today!  It was just what we both needed!  We started off with a new hairdo for Grace... going to see Tangled, so she got untangled first!  Her hair was constantly knotty, and she is not a huge fan of brushing her hair when it is knotty, so it was time for a trim.  Her hairdresser, Paul, was wonderful!  Grace really liked him, and he did a great job putting her at ease.
I caught Grace in mid-chew... oops!

Since we saw Tangled in 3D, we brought our glasses home to share...
Livie's made a great hairband!  And Jeremy... well... what can I say?

Day Three Hundred and Thirty Seven and Counting...

Something happened that just made my girls' day.  I wish it hadn't happened yet.  I am just not ready.  But my girls?  They just couldn't be happier.
Yes.  It snowed enough that they could eat it.
And my little ladies?  Happy little grazers.
Sigh.

Day Three Hundred and Thirty Six and Counting...

Just look at how tired my poor little loves are...
Such an exhausting week!

Day Three Hundred and Thirty Five and Counting...

Today was the annual Christmas dinner with my workmates and the board members from the church.  For Jeremy and I that meant a night out with no kids!
For Olivia and Grace?  That meant another evening with Kelly!  The girls were so excited to see her!  And we were content to know our girls were in good hands!
And she got the evening off to a great start... with a book!

Day Three Hundred and Thirty Four and Counting...

For Grace's birthday she got a Fancy Nancy kit.  She decided to break it out again today, and share with Olivia!  They certainly looked fancy!
Your highness!
Your majesty!

And Olivia was awfully happy to see Daddy tonight, too!

Day Three Hundred and Thirty Three and Counting...

Grace's first day of junior kindergarten was a huge success!  She woke up so excited you'd have thought it was Christmas!  She couldn't wait to get there and get started...
Olivia and I dropped her off at her before school program.  And when I got Livie back to the van, she didn't want to go and leave Grace behind.  She was upset with me!  But she was very excited to go back and pick her up!
Grace ran at us both when we arrived at the after school program!  She was thrilled to see us and tell us all about her day.
I simply sighed with relief to see her happy - and in one piece.
The girls were near inseparable all evening.  Livie didn't want Grace going anywhere without her.
And she didn't want me bothering her while she cuddled with Grace, either!

Day Three Hundred and Thirty Two and Counting...

Do you know why my Grace is smiling here?  Or why this backpack is part of my post?  They are related by another major milestone in my daughter's life...
She is smiling because this backpack is going to big school with her tomorrow.  And she couldn't be more pleased!
That's right.  Big school.  Junior kindergarten.

And mommy is barely holding it together.

Bonus, unrelated photo:
For the first time in ages, Livie fell asleep at dinner.
Lucky for her, she had already eaten her soup!

Day Three Hundred and Thirty One and Counting...

We had a very special guest this evening!  Our very first babysitter that is not family (or my partner!)!  The girls had a wonderful time with her doing ballet and dancing, reading stories and building towers!
It was a big step for us, but having such a wonderful young woman care for our children made it so much easier on us!  Thanks, honey!
