Day Two Hundred and Twenty Five and Counting...

Today was a very busy day for my girls!  Grandma came for an early visit, and brought the ladies some new clothes!  Both of them just had to change into a new outfit, of course.  Grace's came with new flip flops (she got two new pairs... she is one happy kid!) and Livie had to give them a try!
Here are Livie's size 5 feet in size 12 flip flops!
Too cute!
Gone "shopping"... (the stroller is full of their new clothes!)

Grace had her very first friend party to attend at her BFF's house today!  Grace and Sarah have been peas in a pod since they were a year old!  Quite the milestone!
Outside with the other kids...
Pinata time!
It was a great party!  And now Grace is begging to have a big girl party of her own... we shall see!

Day Two Hundred and Twenty Four and Counting...

We surprised the girls with a little take-out tonight... thanks to two tired and cranky girls, and thanks to a tired Mommy and Daddy who just weren't up to cooking!  And it just made them so happy, so it was all worth it!
Grace and Livie were both quite taken with the little toys that came in their meals... little birds from the Littlest Pet Shop collection.  Livie has a real thing for birds (animals in general, really.  I think it is the hippie-tree-hugger in her!) and was just thrilled with hers!
Look, Mommy!  A bird!
The wee birdie...
Grace is showing me how the clip part works...
And Livie?  Well, she is just done and wants to go to bed!

Day Two Hundred and Twenty Three and Counting...

Grace had a new trick to show me this evening... one I wish she hadn't learned yet, but it was only a matter of time before she figured it out.
Yep, she has figured out how to open the child-proof lock on the basement door.  I don't mind that she has learned how as much a I am concerned about open doors to stairs... and wee Olivia wanting to walk down them!

Livie was loving on Jeremy tonight, and I managed to get some super photos of the two of them!
She climbed up in the chair behind him, he leaned back and she hugged his face!  It went on for quite some time!  She was quite pleased!
I love this sequence of shots!
Such love!

Day Two Hundred and Twenty Two and Counting...

Grace was in the mood to be a mommy tonight, and got her 'gear' together.  Her mommy gear is her stroller and baby of choice, her dress-up shoes of choice, and her purse/backpack.  She does not enjoy sharing said gear with Olivia, and substitutions have to be made.  Luckily, Olivia was cooperative tonight - she isn't always... and it isn't pretty when she decides otherwise!
Grace is reading my mag, waiting for her ride, I think she said!
Here is Livie in her gear: bag and birthday hat!
And she wanted a mag to read too...
*Love* this shot!
I just caught her flipping her hair over her shoulder... so grown up!
She seemed to be asking Grace if she was interested in the recipe she just read...
Checking the ingredient list...?

Day Two Hundred and Twenty One and Counting...

It was so nice to just get home tonight!  The girls were tired, but happy.  And I was happy to just get home!
Our photo op was so brief ('cause we were busy getting ready for dinner!), and they were just happy to smile for me and say 'cheese'.  Livie is great at saying 'cheese'!  They are so accustomed to me taking pictures all the time now, and Grace will ask me if these ones are going in my blog!  Clever girl!
Grace, being Grace and hamming it up for Olivia!
Livie, watching me with the camera, and watching Grace striking a pose!

Day Two Hundred and Twenty and Counting...

The girls were both rather antsy when we got home and I needed to find something to occupy both of them, or dinner was just not going to happen!
The last time I gave Grace her Window Writers, she coloured all over herself... as she stood next to the window.  So, its been a while since she had them.  I figured it was just the thing for the pair of them.  Except for Livie insisting that I needed to colour too.  Sigh.  Here they are, hard at work.
Working together... sort of.
You can just barely see Livie's drawing, above her head.
This is Grace's drawing of Livie.  Please note the pigtails and long hair that Livie most definitely does not have!
Here, she is drawing Livie's dress.
Here is Grace's self portrait.
And here, Grace is pointing out the important parts... the parts that make her a girl, if you catch my drift?

Day Two Hundred and Nineteen and Counting...

We had an awesome day!  We treated the girls (and ourselves!) to breakfast at Johnny's Grill (great little place), and then surprised my parents with an impromptu visit!  We spend some time in their huge backyard, just relaxing and being together.  It was just fabulous!

Later, Jeremy had the girls tidy up their toys in the family room, then he broke out the vacuum.  Now, Grace is not a fan of things that make loud noises, and the vacuum is right up there with things she doesn't like.  Olivia, however, is a different story!
Daddy helps Livie to get going...
Push, baby, push!
She was very pleased with herself!

Grace, meanwhile...
Trying to block out the noise...
Trying to hide under the blanket (because of the noise) and watch t.v. at the same time!
Then, she decided Livie was having way too much fun, and she needed to get in on it, too.
Not impressed I am taking her picture, I guess!
Now, if only she would be so willing in another ten years or so...!

Livie was not happy about sharing with Grace...
So, Grace gave it back!
