Day One Hundred and Seven and Counting...

What an incredibly busy day!  Grace had her first lesson with Ballet Babies, and her last swimming lesson with the Sea Turtles!  And we got to see Oma and Opa, and Grandma, too!

Starting the day with a cuddle with Grandma!
Hmm.. can you spot my little ballerina?  Yep, she is the one not in a tutu!
She was all in for some of the activities, but played shy most of the time...
Hoping next week will go more smoothly for my little dancer!

Off to the pool for her last lesson!  Grace was already tired, and still feeling shy, but she was excited to find that her Oma and Opa were there to see her, as well as Grandma!  She did really well again today, and passed with flying colours!
Hugs from Oma for Olivia!
Opa making funny faces!
Grace really likes swimming with a life jacket on!
Making a splash!
 Playing "Fishy Fishy"!
One of her last jumps into the pool!

Ah, my happy girl!

Day One Hundred and Five and Counting...

When we got home from school today, there was a crowd in our backyard!  One of Jeremy's friends was celebrating, and he (we) had the guys over to our place.  The girls were so excited to see so many 'friends', as well as a new four-legged friend!
Olivia has spotted the dog!
Both girls are watching the dog... (but its dinner time, so they can't go out...!)

The girls were really good about having to wait to go out to see Daddy's friends, but they did spend an awful amount of time just staring out the window... and waving... and waiting...
Does she see her reflection?
Caught Grace's reflection, too...
Both my beauties and their reflections... love it!

Day One Hundred and Four

Before I begin today's post, I need to share photos of Scaredy Squirrel, the character I mentioned in yesterday's post.  Grace was more than happy to pose with her buddy, and share her books with me and the camera!
Introducing Scaredy Squirrel!
Reading with her buddy...
Sharin' a little love...!

If you have been following my blog at all, you will have noticed that my girls love chocolate, almost as much as me!  Well, today they got to try some Bueno chocolate as dessert after dinner.  Beware, the photos may look gross, but the chocolate sure is yummy!
Mmmm....
Squishing it all in!
Sharing the yummy insides...
With her insides!

Day One Hundred and Three and Counting...

For Christmas, Grace got a boxed set of a book and puppet: Scaredy Squirrel.  She loves puppets, and enjoys the story that came with it.  Jeremy decided to see if there were more books, and then requested them from the library.
She is now completely in love with the books!  Scaredy has since joined Eeyore as a sleeping buddy in Grace's bed - truly a place of honour!  She loves it when Jeremy actually uses the puppet and has a 'conversation' as Scaredy with her... it really is a riot to watch.
Today, she made the connection between the puppet and the real thing... and I got these photos of her watching a squirrel out in the yard!
Watching closely...
Trying to hide, and watch at the same time!

When Jeremy came home yesterday, he brought me a special surprise!  And something we just had to share with the girls!  Girl Guide Cookies!
 Mmm... tasty!
What is this in the middle?
Yum!
Can you see Grace's little chocolate mustache?

Day One Hundred and Two and Counting...

My girls are changing so fast these days, or so it seems.  All of a sudden, Olivia is nodding or shaking her head when you ask her a question, and she is determinedly trying to use her words to communicate with us.  She really not my little baby anymore... *sniff*
And my Grace has suddenly learned to hop on one foot!  This is something she has been desperately trying to achieve since last summer... and, ta-da!  Today she can!  She hopped all over the main floor, almost as if she was afraid if she stopped she wouldn't be able to remember how to do it again!
Hop, hop!  She is only able to hop on her right foot at this point... who knows what she'll be able to do tomorrow?
Hopping right out of the frame...!
Now it's time to dance...!
And hop!

Over the weekend, Olivia made the connection between her shoes and going outside... one should follow the other, yes?  So, today, after dinner, she brought me her shoes.  And hollered at me until I put them on her...

Here, Mommy...
So, uh, put 'em on, okay?
Reeeeeeeeaaaaccccchh!
 Hey!  A helping hand, maybe?
Ooh... creepy!
*I just wanna go outside!*

Day One Hundred and One...

What a terrific Sunday!
Sundays seem to be all about 'recovering from the week' naps for Olivia, and she naps as much as possible!  This morning, she had only been up for about two hours - after a twelve hour night! - and she was ready for her first nap of the day!
She fell asleep nursing, and refused to give up her pillow!
What a little sweetie!

The weather today was just awesome, and I had the girls out for a few hours.  Olivia just cannot get enough outdoor time!  She bangs on the patio and front doors, hollering to go out.  And is never happy to come in!
Livie was begging to sit with Grace, and practically climbed up her legs to get in the chair with her!  (I helped turn her little bum around!)
Kissy-kissy!

Jeremy decided after dinner that he wanted to treat his ladies to ice cream... and who are we to say no?  And for Olivia, it was her first DQ cone!  It was quite the experience!
I hand her the cone, and she immediately grabs the ice cream in her hand...
And then both hands!  It did not go well...  She ended up squishing it between her fingers, crying and trying to get it off her hands because it was so cold!
Small bites of cone...
Big, cold bite of ice cream... shiver inducing!
Her little face is buried in her cone...
Ice cream boogers!
Grace is thoroughly enjoying her cone!
Thanks for the treat, Daddy!
